Bienvenue Bordeaux, where great (new) wineries are made!
Bienvenue Bordeaux, where great (new) wineries are made! (And welcome to the Net, where great deals are made!)
Take one part “12th century buildings”,
many parts “money for completely renovated state-of-the-art facility” (2009),
add “talented winemaker” (Caroline Gaullier from Château La Tour Figeac),
and mix thoroughly with “rock star consultant” (Stephane Derenoncourt).
Château La Bienfaisance is located in the town of Saint-Christophe des Bardes just over the hill from Saint-Emilion, covering 16 hectares. The main plots, planted with Merlot and Cabernet Franc, are on the famous clay and limestone plateau of Saint-Emilion as well as the clay and sandy slopes of the adjacent hillside. Most of the better St. Emilion wine comes from the chateaux located on these “Cotes.”
